BREWSTER, NY — Brewster will be getting a new Subaru dealership thanks in part to recent road improvements, ushered in with a little help from local lawmakers in Albany.
Noting that economic development is often an unheralded benefit of road projects, NYS Senator Peter Harckham and developer Paul Camarda, President of Camarda Realty Investments, announced on Thursday that a new Subaru dealership is coming to the Stateline Retail property on Route 6/202, next to the Restaurant Depot that opened earlier this year.
“Subaru coming to Brewster is great news,” said Harckham. “New economic development in this corner of Putnam County means job creation and more tax revenue for municipalities and the school district. Congratulations to Paul Camarda and his team, along with the municipal partners.”
Sen. Harckham and State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins pushed for the $1,085,000 in state grant funding in March 2020 for significant roadway improvements to be made for the ongoing Stateline Retail project on Route 6/202.
